Beloved children’s book author, Julia Donaldson wrote the piece ‘Library Poem’ as a response to the COVID pandemic - in celebration of National Libraries Day but also perhaps in protest to libraries closing during the lockdown.
In this poem, she reminds us of the fundamentals of library space and what a library really means to us. What it stands for and its everlasting value. It also alludes to the fact that we need to ensure libraries are ‘still here tomorrow’.
